Towbars

Any type of towbar can be fitted to your requirements ie fixed (either flange or swan neck) or detachable. All manufacturers are available but unless you request a specific make the quote will be for the cheapest available for your vehicle.
For the electrics you can have either :
Double Electrics - this option is for caravan towing for charging the leisure battery, running a fridge and operating reverse lights.
Single Electrics - this is for operating all road lights except reverse lights. If you were only intending to use your towbar with a cycle carrier you would only need single electrics so you can use a lighting board over the bikes to ensure your number plate is still visible.
13 Pin Electrics - has both of the above all in one plug, plus the facility for ATC operation (Alko ATC Trailer Control) if this is fitted to your caravan or trailer. All caravans manufactured in the UK from 2008 onwards will have been fitted with an ISO 13 pin connector as standard. This system uses one socket with 13 pins inside, instead of the traditional two separate 7 pin sockets.
13 pin sockets are also used on some vehicles especially with detachable towbars when there isn't enough room to mount two separate sockets. In this case I would fit the 13 pin socket and supply you with a 13 pin to 12n/12s adaptor.
From August 1998 all towbars have 94/20/EC Type Approval on all passenger vehicles. This was designed to give free trade ie you do not need to use the car manufacturers own towbar, and your warranty will not be invalidated.
On certain cars your bumper may need to be cut. If this is the case I will let you know whether this is visible or not.
